Mountain Stats

Its no secret your safest bet for finding top notch ski conditions in the mid-Atlantic and Southeast Region is to visit Snowshoe Mountain. What's the recipe for success you ask? We like to think of it as a little Cheat Mountain Magic and a whole lot of Snowshoe Muscle. Check out these stats provided by Snowshoe Mountain Resort.

Thanks to a combination of lake effect storms, high elevation and other weather patterns, annual snowfall at the "Shoe" averages more than 180 inches. Mother nature treats us pretty well. Plus, we try to do our part by making snow at every opportunity. Put all of that together, and we're able to offer a one-of-a-kind Snow Guarantee (where your next day of skiing is free if another resort in the region offers more skiable terrain). Click here to learn more.

The Basin area is a fan favorite, due in part to its diversity. Experts can enjoy bomber runs like Widowmaker, Choker and Knot Bumper. Intermediates can hit great cruiser slopes like Skipjack and GandyDancer, and first timers can cruise learning terrain in the Flume Trail system. You can also get a taste of our terrain park system in the Basin area. Start at Progression Session and work your way on up to Evolution.

Employees and locals love Silver Creek partially because of the night skiing, but there are a million other reasons too. It has the Coca-Cola Tube Park, Kid's World and three areas designated for freestyle terrain. There are great beginner slopes as well as expert level trails. All around, it’s kind of a hidden gem (just don’t tell anyone we told ya).

Western is so legendary it has its own history. The story goes, in the early 1900s when Cheat Mountain was being harvested of its abundant virgin Spruce, the area that’s now home to Cupp Run was known as the Western Territory. Few loggers would venture into the region because of the steep, rugged terrain. Today, with 1500' of steeps to conquer, its home to the most advanced terrain in the region. Combine the renowned Cupp Run, designed by Olympian Jean-Claude Killy, and Shay's Revenge, with steeps of 52%, and you've got a ski experience like no other.
